Erno van Schaick is a senior consultant at Exprimo. Erno obtained a M.Sc. in Bio-pharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University, the Netherlands in 1992. In 1993 he received sponsorship from Glaxo (now GSK), Greenford, United Kingdom to do a Ph.D. at Leiden University. The emphasis of his research was on the application of mechanism-based PK/PD modelling to assess the in vivo selectivity of novel purinergic drugs. Erno obtained his Ph.D. from the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences in 1997. In 1996, he started working at the department of Clinical Pharmacokinetics of Janssen Research Foundation, Beerse, Belgium, where he contributed to Phase I through III development programs of several CNS compounds. In 1999, he assumed global responsibility for all PK and PK/PD work on novel antidepressants and anxiolytics. From 2000 to 2003, Erno worked in early clinical development in various therapeutic areas. In this position he was actively involved in the promotion of the application of PK/PD modelling approaches to facilitate transfer of compounds from animal to man. In Nov 2003, he accepted a position at the diagnostic biotechnology company Virco, where he was responsible for the development of population PK(/PD) approaches to guide personalised HIV-therapy. Erno joined Exprimo in 2004. He is author of several original research papers on the application of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modelling. Erno lives in The Netherlands.
