Mats Magnusson

Mats ‘MaMa’ Magnusson is a consultant at Exprimo. He was born in Sweden in 1975. Mats obtained his MSc in pharmacy (2001) and his PhD (2007) from the University of Uppsala. His PhD focused on the pharmacodynamics of enzyme induction. In his thesis, Mats developed mechanistic models to describe enzyme induction. This was accomplished by combining in vitro data with preclinical and clinical investigations; he received the Rosenö award in 2007 for his thesis. After his PhD, Mats joined Pfizer on a one year internship where his main project was to build mechanistic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic models for monoclonal antibodies. These models were applied to predict the pharmacokinetics in humans from preclinical data, as well as in the evaluation of the PK and the effect of biologics in patients. Mats joined Exprimo in 2008 and lives in Sweden.
