Al Maloney

Al Maloney is a senior consultant at Exprimo. Al obtained an MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine from the University of Southampton, England, in 1994. He was sponsored by Glaxo (now GSK) during that time. Previously, he received an upper second class BSc degree in Mathematics with Actuarial Studies, also from Southampton. After working at Zeneca (now Syngenta) as a consultant statistician, he moved to Glaxo to work as a project statistician in clinical development (Phase II/III). For 3˝ years at Glaxo he worked within the clinical pharmacology area and which was where he gained his interest in applying PK and PK/PD methods and analyses techniques. During his time at Glaxo/GSK, Alan was (co-) author of over 30 protocols, reports and arbitration documents, and also interacted with regulatory agencies (presenting at BfArM, FDA TC's, submissions). Before leaving Glaxo/GSK, Al was accredited with Chartered Statistician status by the Royal Statistic Society in England. Prior to joining Exprimo in 2002 Al worked as a scientific consultant for the Pharsight Corporation, using M&S techniques to identify and address key drug development issues. During his 18 months at Pharsight he worked on nine M&S projects. Al lives in Sweden.
