Janet Wade

Dr Janet Wade is a senior consultant at Exprimo. Janet obtained a B.Sc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1981. She then worked for Syntex, Edinburgh, in the department of pharmacokinetics and metabolism until 1986 when she moved to Glasgow University, Scotland to do a PhD. Her thesis, entitled ‘Concentration effect relationships of the ACE Inhibitors’ was completed in 1990. In her first period of postdoctoral studies she started working with population analyses (mixed effects modelling) within oncology, in Glasgow. After that Janet moved to the University of Uppsala in Sweden where she continued working on population analyses with respect to drug development. In 1992 Dr Wade moved to the University of California, San Francisco, for her second period of post-doctoral studies and where she further studied both the methodological and practical aspects of utilising mixed effects modelling. She returned to Sweden in 1994 and joined the Swedish Medical Products Agency. Within the agency her interests focused on mixed effects modelling, drug interactions and paediatrics. After leaving the agency in 2000 she joined the Pharsight Corporation where she worked as a consultant specialising in clinical trial simulation. She left Pharsight in 2001 and joined Exprimo in 2002. Janet has many publications on mixed effects analyses and has written several book chapters on regulatory aspects of the PK and PK/PD parts of new drug submissions. Janet lives in Sweden.
